Julian Tang is the Founder and Managing Director of Ernest & Kin, an award-winning science and impact communications consultancy and the creator of Evidence-Based Communication™ ad the SHARE Framework.

He holds a PhD in Medicine and Health Sciences from the University of Melbourne and has built his career across Australia, Japan and Singapore. Before founding Ernest & Kin in 2022, Julian held senior editorial and research communication roles, including at Springer Nature in Tokyo and the National University of Singapore.

His work brings together scientific communication, science communication and impact communication. He advises universities, research institutions, healthcare organisations, public agencies and science- and technology-led businesses on how to turn complex research, specialised knowledge and evidence of impact into communication that is clear, credible and meaningful.

Through Ernest & Kin, Julian leads work spanning communication strategy, impact and institutional reporting, editorial development, academic and medical writing, visual storytelling, digital platforms and professional training. His approach combines evidential rigour, contextual understanding and empathy — examining what the evidence supports before deciding how a story should be told.

His writing and speaking are characterised by candour, strategic insight and an ability to make complex subjects accessible without reducing them to simplistic messages.

Under his leadership, Ernest & Kin has developed into a multidisciplinary consultancy serving organisations across Asia-Pacific. In 2025, the company received the SME500 Singapore Award.
